We are deeply committed to sustainability, and one of the significant strides we've made in that direction is harnessing resources within our production facilities to generate power for our own needs.
Within our production process, we naturally produce hot gases as by-products, which we efficiently convert into power to sustain our operations. Furthermore, we have established a hydropower and wind power facility, and we are presently in the final stages of launching a solar unit. This dedication to renewable and eco-friendly energy sources reflects our commitment to align with sustainability objectives and minimize our environmental impact.
Today we generate a total of *___* of power within our facilities. While most of this power is used for captive consumption, often, excess power generated is then transmitted to the grid of CESCOM.
Our Power plants
Captive Power plant
The CPP has a Waste Heat Recovery Boiler, Atmospheric Fluidized-Bed Combustion, and a turbine that generates around 20 MW of consistent power. Using an air-cooled condenser eliminates water usage by 70% and allows the plant to be efficient & eco-friendly.
Hydroelectric Power Plant
Minera’s hydel plant is a run-of-the-stream project situated in Karnataka’s Mandya district which generates 12MW of green power. Running since 2010, it is responsible for fewer emissions, effectively shrinking our carbon footprint.
Windmills
Minera operates windmills that generate around 7.25 MW. The energy is supplied to CESCOM, allowing us to supply green power to villages and towns in over 5 districts in Karnataka.
OUR PROCESS
The waste heat generated by our production processes is used to power the WHRB, and the steam generated is sent to a turbine & generator to power a portion of Minera’s plant.
Quality Management
We take quality control seriously and offer only the best products to our customers. The quality management process passes through four levels: inspection, control, assurance, and TQM (Total Quality Management.)
Our Quality Control Lab
To improve quality at various production stages, Minera’s QC lab is equipped with advanced tools such as spectrometers, electronic balances, pulveriser grinding machines, etc.

Minera aims for minimal emissions through the steel-making process and utilizes the waste heat and gases to provide 8MW of electricity to our plant.
