OVERVIEW
Minera is one of the best Billet Manufacturer in and around Bellary region and produces a wide range of Continuously casted Billets in its Integrated Steel Plant. Steel Billets are used by the industry to convert into material needed for construction and infrastructure at different levels - from TMT bars to construct buildings to Structural steel needed for flyovers and other large infrastructure projects.
Minera currently has a 20 & 22 ton Induction Furnace and plans to add a 40 ton Electric Arc Furnace which will be able to produce high quality alloy steel. Minera is working towards achieving a capacity of 500,000 MT per annum.

OUR PROCESS
The finest sponge iron is heated in an induction furnace to create liquid metal. It is then fed into our CCM (Continuous Casting Machine) and casted into defect-free billets at Minera’s state-of-the-art S.M.S.

Excellent Surface Finish:
Rigorous magnetic particle tests are done regularly to identify cracks. The final product is free from surface cracks or laminations.

Dimensional Tolerance:
IS 2830 & IS 2831 are followed when producing billets to ensure dimensional tolerance.

No Internal Defects:
Sulphur Print Test is conducted to identify and remove billets with internal defects such as piping blow-holes and pinholes.

To craft strong and defect-free billets, we use powerful hydro-cutting machines at our S.M.S. This prevents the release of harmful gases which can happen due to other billet cutting techniques.

To improve quality at various production stages, Minera’s QC lab is equipped with advanced tools such as spectrometers, electronic balances, pulveriser grinding machines, etc.
